Feeling Better After Mother’ s Day Fiasco and Top Chef / Homeschooling
Wow- what a day! Worst Mother’s Day on record! T0 recap- no card, no gift, miserable husband, cold . damp rainy day. didn’t get to see my mom. Car broke down. Blech.
Woke up not feeling that much better . Things did get a bit better when I forced myself to go out for a walk with kids and get some air. My older daughters and I are addicted to Top Chef TV show so we watched a couple of episode of that- which made me want to cook something wildly exotic.
The show is a bit more competitive than I like from a homeschooling point of view- but things I like are the wide range of people and personalities, the passion they have for their craft, looking at all the different ingredients which is often fodder for discussion and we can track some of the more unusual things ( to us) at the market. For example- I had never heard or seen jicama before and it is something they use all the time on Top Chef. I still have not seen here at our local market. But my oldest and I make jokes about it all the time
