Challenge of Meeting Emotional Needs of Everyone- Are large families fair?

Published by homeschooling under General Edit This

I was at a function last night and ran into some one who knew another homeschool family. The family has 9 children under the age of 12. NINE. I has a discussion with another friend about the ideas of large families- she feels quite strongly as the youngest of 7- against
Homeschooling and big families seem to go hand in hand.
Aside from the logistics and stuff that may or may not matter like kids don’t belong to any team sports or play a musical instrument because driving them is a nightmare let along costs- what about the emotional needs?

I have 3 kids and I can barely do it- some days I think i cant do it. Look after myself, by a mom, a sister a daughter a friend and a wife- then the care and welling being of 3 little people. I might be able to DO it - but do it well?
Tandem nursing and 3 in diapers does not sound like emotional needs are being met- plus the parentifying of older kids who need to look after younger ones, I know some people see that as a bonus- that they “need” to help out- but why can’t they be kids, too?
I would like to hear other’s thoughts on the topic.
